Electives
Chorus
If you enjoy singing, please consider joining chorus. Some of our music will center on the great composers and their love
for creating music that glorified God. We will focus primarily on sacred and
classical music. (We will learn a little music history as well.) Come join
chorus as we sing unto the Lord a new song!
Knight's Page
The Knight’s Page is a publication sent to nearly 2,000
people currently on the mailing list maintained by the Development Office.
Students will write the articles, take pictures and participate in the layout of
the Knight’s Page. Enrollment is limited to high school students who love to
write.
Painting Masters
This class consists of research into the biblical
principles used to evaluate, justify, and create good art. We will also study
design elements that are evident in good painting. Students must have a strong
interest in art and should have a desire to learn about famous painters and
their works. Students will select at least one artist per quarter to study and
copy the artist’s works. (This class has a $20.00 fee for supplies).
Annual
During the first semester, the students learn how to
construct a high quality page layout. The class will plan the contents of the
yearbook and will sell advertising in the annual. We will also teach the
students basic principles of photography. We designed this course for beginning
annual students.
Typing
This is a beginning typing course. Students will practice
basic keyboarding skills. Enrollment in this class is limited to ten students.
String Ensemble--
Students will work through several simplified
famous orchestral works. Class time will be spent rehearsing and learning the
repertoire, as well as learning about the technical aspects of playing in an
ensemble. Students will be expected to practice and learn their parts on their
own time. Enrollment is limited to students with experience playing any stringed
instrument including violin, viola, and cello.
Internship
This course is for seniors only. Seniors should refer to the
independent study handout for more information about this elective course.
Anatomy and Physiology--
The class will focus on the structure and function of the human body. Specific
attention will be given to the following systems: Integumentary, Skeletal,
Muscular, Nervous, Endocrine, Cardiovascular, Lymphatic, Respitory, Digestive,
and Urinary. There will also be several dissections, including a cow’s or goat’s
eye, fetal pig, and other organs. In addition, guest speakers from the medical
field will make a number of presentations. Students will also have the
opportunity to take a field trip to the anatomy museum at WSU.

Theatre Basics
This elective is not just for student actors, but it is for students who are
interested in acting. It will be split between two emphases: some background on
the technical aspects of live theater and instruction with practice in acting
techniques. We will be using the gym stage. Acting in general will be examined
in light of biblical principles. At least one field trip to a local university
theater department will be planned.
Typing
This is a beginning typing course. Students will practice basic keyboarding
skills. Enrollment in this class is limited to ten students. Students who have
previously taken typing may not be allowed to take typing again due to the
limited space available to all Logos students.
Chorus
Auditions for spring semester chorus are required. Some
of our music will center on the great composers and their love for creating
music that glorified God. We will focus primarily on sacred and classical music.
(We will learn a little music history as well.) Come join chorus as we sing unto
the Lord a new song! Mrs. Barrie also hopes to have students play piano and
accompany the choir.
Internship
This class is only open to seniors.
Seniors should refer to the independent study handout for more information about
this elective course.
French--Taught by: Giselle Nance
This course will cover basic grammar of
beginning level French. Students will learn pronunciation, basic vocabulary,
sentence formation and verb conjugations. We will take advantage of the
classroom situation to emphasize the conversational aspect of the language.
Personal Business--Taught by: Keith Dimeler
This elective course is open to 10th, 11th, and 12th
students. God speaks on the subject of money and economics just like He speaks
to every topic. If we are to glorify God in all that we do, we should know how
that applies in affairs of money, buying and selling, building a home, and
giving an inheritance. Hopefully this course will be just a taste of what
Christians must learn in order to reform the way we think about economics and
business.
