Logos Primary School Faculty
The qualities we look for in our
grammar level teachers are somewhat different than the ones we look for in our
logic and rhetoric level teachers. Obviously they all must share the
fundamentals: a life of love for and obedience to God the Father, through Jesus
Christ; a love for children, a love for the knowledge they daily impart; and an
evident ability to instruct.
Beyond those aspects, the unique
qualities we look for in our grammar school teachers include:
-
Understanding, loving, and teaching to the
characteristics and frames of young children.
-
An eager grasp of the necessary grammatical teaching
methods and the reasons for them.
-
The passion for and ability to practically apply those
methods, while constantly seeking to improve upon them, for the sake of the
students’ understanding.
-
The accompanying organizational skills to run a
well-ordered, pleasant classroom.
-
Regularly and naturally integrating biblical training
into all they impart and model.
At Logos, God has blessed us with
a very mature, experienced group of grammar school teachers who exemplify the
above qualities. In our early years, we had virtually a revolving door for
hiring and losing young teachers. By God’s grace, as you can see below, we now
have a staff that represents not only many years of teaching experience, but
also teachers who are parents and even grandparents themselves. This last aspect
is a very valuable qualification due to the wisdom that godly parenting brings
to teaching.

School, we hope you have the pleasure of meeting these folks:
