Logos School Admin & Staff Support

Logos School has consistently sought to provide leadership and support that first of all fits with our philosophy, then we try to adjust finances to accommodate our convictions. For example, you will notice that we have more than one administrator for a school of less than three hundred students. That is rather unusual and opens us to the charge of being "top heavy." Were we only concerned with the "bottom line," this would be a foolish structure. But our school board determined that, regardless of the "extra" cost, they wanted to have someone directly and intimately overseeing the building and maintaining of each level of the Trivium in our school. So, our elementary principal works closely with the grammar school teachers and program, while the secondary principal does the same with the logic and rhetoric program (including extra-curricular programs) of the secondary (7th-12th grades). The superintendent acts as the liaison between the board and the staff, oversees and coordinates the principals’ work, as well as ensures the entire campus is functioning properly.

God has seen fit, over the years, to allow us to develop and sell materials our staff members have designed. Therefore, many years ago we hired a full-time Director of Materials sales. The income from these sales profoundly affects the annual school budget, allowing us to keep tuitions much lower than we would otherwise manage.

We have also been blessed to get some great counsel early on about the value of a full-time Development Officer. Rather than the school sending out endless appeals for financial help, this gentleman spends his time meeting many people and literally developing relationships that, yes, we hope yield gifts as well as friendships. He is also responsible for public relations, grant writing, and designated gift giving, e.g. to the science department or capital projects.

We are very grateful for all the staff members whose primary labors have to do with ensuring that the teachers are able to do their critical jobs each day. We are, after all, a school!
